10 Church Trends That Excite Me
Prayer for the sick. I’m seeing more and more churches offer prayer for the sick both from platform or from prayer ministry moments. Jesus is a beaker and wants to make himself known to people. I think every church service should have a moment where we give God opportunity to make himself known in power. A church that believe God heals should reflect that. And that’s what I’m seeing.
New post secondary schools churches everywhere are launching one year internships or small Bible colleges. Many partner with TheosSeminary (we do the curriculum side). We need this to raise up the next wave of leaders.
Theological upskilling: also seeing this with so many pastors and leaders getting into Bible college and seminaries. It’s important to keep growing our minds so that we can serve our people well.
Addressing the issues fearlessly (boomers are scared to lose, millennials aren’t). Boomers seem to love growth at all costs, whereas millennials seem to love truth at all costs. More pastors are embracing truth telling. It’s exciting.
Worship and waiting. This is a great trend because it inevitably creates prophetic atmospheres where personal prophecies are given and received, and that’s the stuff that buoys you up through your 30’s. Ministries are launched through the prophetic.
