Identifying the Christian Nationalism of the Left
This Christian comedian makes a good observation and I’m gonna take it further.
The term Christian Nationalist is bandied around the internet willy-nilly, most often as a club with which to bash the Christian Right.
“It means racist, bigoted, exclusive, white supremacist, homophobic, and all the other scary words nobody wants to be accused of.”
There may very well be people who fit this entire description, Christians who are Nationalists. But the Italians are Christian Nationalists. So are the Irish. And the Hungarians. And the Polish. And let’s not forget England lol—the official religion of the State is the Anglican Church.
They don’t seem to fit the bill that Progressives charge American Evangelicals with.
