Demon Hunter / Influencer Mike Signorelli recently “called me out” in a sermon.
Last year, Mike and I got into a kerfuffle in the DM’s over Catholicism.
He had posted a clip on Instagram disparaging Catholics; some moron took him on a Dan-Brown-esque tour of Rome where they “uncovered” the paganism upon which the Catholic Church was founded.
💀
I mean yeah—Christianity went from being outlawed to official religion of the empire in a decade. The temples of Apollo were converted to houses of worship all over the Empire in an epic turnaround.
That’s about as Christian a story as anything.
The only thing remotely pagan about the churches were the architecture and the Roman Imperial Protocol that the clergy adopted: they started wearing robes consistent with the aristocracy etc., but vestments that echoed the priests of the Old Testament.
When Constantine tried to push his heresies on the bishops at Nicea it backfired: they didn’t listen to the Christian Emperor and instead united doctrinally around Scripture.
The Bible—not Paganism or Political Rome—ruled the roost.
Anyways here’s a clip of Mike complaining about how young people quote Catholics and some other nonsense and my response:
